Marta Maté is a boutique producer based in the Ribera del Duero, working vineyards in the village of Tubilla del Lago at over 900 meters above sea level. Their philosophy is all about precision and respect for the land: organic practices, careful vineyard management, and small-scale winemaking. The result is wines that combine Ribera’s natural richness with freshness and finesse from the high altitude and varied soils.
Viñas del Lago is vibrant and full of fruit yet beautifully balanced. Juicy red fruits like cherry and raspberry jump out on the nose, followed by violet, a touch of spice, and a clean stony edge. The taste is fresh and energetic on the palate. The fruit is pure and vibrant, balanced by polished tannins that give shape without roughness. A gentle touch of oak adds warmth but stays in the background. The finish lingers with red fruit and mineral notes carried by refreshing acidity.
Its equally good to drink on its own or with food. Pair it with grilled lamb, roast pork, mushroom dishes, or firm cheeses.
