A beautifully crafted South African Cabernet Sauvignon from Miles Mossop, made from grapes grown in the Polkadraai Hills of Stellenbosch. The Chapters range focuses on individual vineyard sites, and this 2022 Cabernet Sauvignon shows just how good Stellenbosch can be for producing elegant, finely structured Cabernet.
Tasting Note:
Deep garnet in colour, with an inviting nose of blackcurrant, cassis and blackberry, backed by dried herbs, tobacco, cedar and a touch of vanilla. The palate is full-bodied but nicely balanced, with ripe dark fruit, blackcurrant, subtle spice and savoury herbal notes. Firm, well-integrated tannins give the wine plenty of structure, while 22 months in French oak adds depth without overwhelming the fruit. The finish is long, dry and gently savoury.
A serious but approachable Stellenbosch Cabernet Sauvignon with plenty of character. Delicious now with red meats, roast lamb or charcuterie, but has the structure to develop further with some bottle age.
