2022 Waterkloof Circle of Life White
Waterkloof's vineyards are on the south-facing slopes of the Schapenberg, overlooking False Bay in the Western Cape. Half of the estate has been set aside to preserve the rare and abundant natural vegetation, fauna and flora (fynbos) situated on the property and in 2008 they became The Western Cape Wineland’s first WWF (World Wildlife Fund) Conservation Champions. The estate benefits from being the coolest in the Stellenbosch wine growing region with altitude and cooling breezes from the Southern Ocean both playing their part.
Grapes are handpicked and hand sorted to ensure only the best berries are used. They are then whole-bunch pressed to delicately extract the juices.
This wine is a fresh and elegant blend of Sauvignon Blanc, Chenin Blanc and Semillon. Zesty lemon and lime on the nose with notes of pear follow through to a mineral core and creamy mid palate. The Chenin Blanc gives complexity and a persistent finish while a small proportion of Semillon adds texture and depth.
