Produced by Bodega Garzón in Maldonado, this is a 100% Marselan—a crossing of Cabernet Sauvignon and Grenache—grown on granitic, well-drained soils under strong Atlantic influence, which promotes slow ripening and aromatic precision.
Fermentation takes place in large concrete tanks, followed by 6–12 months ageing on lees in stainless steel and large untoasted French oak casks, enhancing texture while preserving freshness and varietal character.
Tasting note:
The wine shows a deep ruby colour, with an expressive nose of blackberry, red cherry and wild berries, layered with mint, eucalyptus and a distinct mineral note. On the palate it is medium-to-full-bodied, with a smooth, rounded texture and balanced acidity supporting a core of ripe red and dark fruit. Subtle notes of cocoa, herbs and spice add complexity, while the structure remains supple and polished. A mineral thread runs through the wine, giving clarity and lift. The finish is long, soft and persistent, with lingering fruit, freshness and gentle savoury nuance.
A modern, expressive Marselan, combining ripeness, freshness and approachability, showcasing Uruguay’s growing strength with alternative varieties.
