Produced by Bodega Garzón in Maldonado, this is a 100% Tannat, Uruguay’s flagship variety, grown on decomposed granite soils under strong Atlantic influence, which moderates ripening and helps retain freshness and balance in a naturally powerful grape.
Fermentation takes place in temperature-controlled concrete tanks, followed by maturation in a combination of large oak casks and stainless steel, allowing tannin integration while preserving fruit purity and varietal expression.
Tasting note:
The wine shows a deep, inky ruby colour, with an aromatic profile of blackberry, plum and black cherry, layered with violet, cocoa and subtle spice. On the palate it is full-bodied and structured, with firm but well-managed tannins balanced by fresh acidity. Flavours of dark fruit, cassis and liquorice are complemented by a mineral undertone and a touch of earthy savouriness. The texture is powerful yet polished, reflecting careful extraction and élevage. The finish is long, persistent and dry, with lingering dark fruit, spice and fine tannin grip.
A modern expression of Tannat, combining structure, freshness and refinement, showcasing the grape’s intensity while maintaining balance and drinkability.
