Château de Caraguilhes sits in the heart of the Corbières region in southern France. It’s a beautiful ancient estate, and also one of the area’s trailblazers in organic winemaking. The vineyard’s roots go back over 2,000 years, and since 1987, the estate has been fully dedicated to organic farming. It earned its official organic certification from Écocert in 1992. Today, some of its wines are also made using biodynamic methods, with certifications from Biodyvin and Demeter.
Cochon Volant Rouge is ripe and juicy, with plenty of fresh berry fruit balanced by a savoury, gently spicy character. It has the warmth and generosity you would expect from the Languedoc, but retains enough freshness to keep it lively and easy to drink.
Tasting Note:
Aromas of ripe red and black berries lead into a juicy, rounded palate with flavours of blackberry, raspberry and plum, alongside subtle herbs and spice. The tannins are soft and well integrated, with good freshness bringing balance to the ripe fruit.
Food Match:
A great match for grilled meats, sausages, lamb, roast vegetables, Mediterranean dishes and hard cheeses.
