Produced by Paul Clüver Family Wines, this 100% Chardonnay comes from the pioneering estate vineyards in cool-climate Elgin, where Bokkeveld shale and clay soils, altitude and strong diurnal variation produce naturally fresh, mineral-driven wines. The estate planted Elgin’s first commercial Chardonnay in 1987 and has become one of the region’s benchmark producers.
Winemaking:
The grapes are whole-bunch pressed, naturally fermented and matured for around nine months in French oak, allowing texture and complexity to develop while retaining the wine’s natural acidity.
Tasting note :
Aromas of ripe citrus, tangerine, orange blossom and white peach lead into subtle vanilla, toasted brioche and saline notes. The palate is precise and beautifully balanced, with fine acidity carrying citrus and stone fruit through a mineral, lightly creamy texture. The finish is long, fresh and focused, with excellent tension and gentle oak integration.
A refined cool-climate Chardonnay, combining Elgin freshness, mineral precision and understated richness.
