A pure, Atlantic-influenced Godello from Adega Algueira, one of the regions leading producers in Ribeira Sacra in Galicia, north-west Spain. The winery is based along the steep river canyons of the Sil, where terraced vineyards cling to dramatic slate and schist slopes. The combination of altitude, oceanic influence and poor, rocky soils gives the wines a distinctive tension and mineral clarity.
“Brandán” expresses Godello in a fresh, precise style, with fruit sourced from cooler hillside vineyards that preserve acidity and aromatic lift. Gentle winemaking keeps the emphasis on site rather than overt winemaking influence.
Bright and finely etched, with aromas of lemon zest, green pear, white flowers and a subtle herbal edge. The palate is linear and focused, showing citrus, crisp apple and stone fruit wrapped around a firm mineral core. A saline, stony finish reflects the slate-rich vineyards, giving the wine both drive and length. Clean, energetic and quietly complex, it’s a textbook expression of Ribeira Sacra’s high-altitude freshness.
