Château de Caraguilhes sits in the heart of the Corbières region in southern France. It’s a beautiful ancient estate, and also one of the area’s trailblazers in organic winemaking. The vineyard’s roots go back over 2,000 years, and since 1987, the estate has been fully dedicated to organic farming. It earned its official organic certification from Écocert in 1992. Today, some of its wines are also made using biodynamic methods, with certifications from Biodyvin and Demeter.
Cochon Volant is bright and youthful blend of Viognier, Vermentino and Colombard. It has a fresh, engaging nose of citrus blossom, green apple and a touch of white peach. On the palate it’s lively and crisp, with clean acidity and zesty lemon and grapefruit flavours, a hint of juicy pear and a subtle herbal edge. There’s refreshing energy and clarity here, with a smooth, dry finish - easy-drinking and very food-friendly.
