Produced by Croft in the Douro Valley, the 2024 is a declared Vintage Port, crafted from selected parcels across the house’s key vineyards, including Quinta da Roêda. The wine is based on traditional Douro field blends—principally Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca and Tinta Roriz—grown on schist soils that contribute structure and depth.
Fermentation takes place in a combination of traditional lagares and temperature-controlled vessels, followed by fortification and a short maturation in large oak vats before bottling unfiltered. The 2024 vintage highlights aromatic purity, balance and structure, in line with Croft’s typically refined house style.
Tasting note:
The wine shows a deep, opaque purple colour, with a fragrant nose of blackberry, black cherry and cassis, lifted by violet, bergamot and subtle herbal notes. On the palate it is full-bodied yet poised, with fine, firm tannins and bright acidity giving both structure and freshness. Flavours of dark berry fruit, plum and spice are complemented by a mineral, schist-driven backbone. The finish is long, elegant and persistent, with lingering floral notes, dark fruit and gentle spice.
