Produced by Domaine Jacqueson in Rully, “La Pucelle” is a Premier Cru Chardonnay sourced from a well-exposed hillside site with limestone-dominant soils, contributing both tension and mineral clarity. The 2024 vintage highlights precision and freshness, with fermentation and ageing in French oak barrels (a restrained proportion new) and lees contact to build texture while preserving site expression.
Tasting note:
The wine shows a pale straw colour with bright green reflections, opening with a lifted nose of lemon zest, green apple and white peach, layered with white flowers, hazelnut and a subtle flinty edge. On the palate it is medium-bodied and finely structured, with vibrant acidity driving flavours of citrus and orchard fruit, supported by a light creamy texture from lees ageing. A distinct chalky mineral backbone adds precision and length. The finish is long, clean and focused, with lingering citrus, saline notes and gentle oak spice.
