Produced by Graham's Port in the Douro Valley, “The Stone Terraces” is a micro-cuvée Vintage Port sourced exclusively from two historic plots—Vinha dos Cardenhos and Vinha da Ponte—at Quinta dos Malvedos. These parcels are planted with very old field blends of traditional Douro varieties, including Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca, Tinta Amarela, Sousão and others, rooted in dry-stone terraced, schist soils that yield exceptional concentration and complexity.
Production is extremely limited, with grapes foot-trodden in granite lagares, followed by fortification and a short period in large oak before bottling unfiltered. The 2024 vintage reflects a year of balance and precision, allowing this cuvée to express both power and refinement at the highest level.
Tasting note:
The wine shows an opaque, inky purple-black colour, with an intensely aromatic nose of blackberry, cassis and dark plum, layered with violet, bergamot and rock rose, alongside hints of dark chocolate and spice. On the palate it is full-bodied and profoundly structured, with dense, finely grained tannins and vibrant acidity creating remarkable tension and longevity. Flavours of black fruit, blueberry and cocoa are underpinned by a deep schist-derived mineral core, adding precision and depth. Despite its concentration, the wine remains poised and finely balanced. The finish is exceptionally long and focused, with lingering floral lift, dark fruit and mineral intensity.
A benchmark, collectible Vintage Port, combining intensity, elegance and site specificity, produced in minute quantities and built for long-term ageing over several decades.
Wine is due to arrive in the UK from Portugal in September.
