Produced by Quinta do Vesúvio in the Douro Valley, this is a single-quinta Vintage Port from one of the Douro’s most historic estates. The wine is crafted from old-vine field blends, dominated by Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca, Tinta Amarela and Sousão, grown on steep schist terraces that deliver concentration, structure and a distinctive mineral profile.
Fermentation is carried out in traditional granite lagares with foot treading, followed by fortification and a short maturation in large oak vats before bottling unfiltered. The 2024 vintage reflects precision, depth and balance, capturing the power of Vesúvio alongside freshness and aromatic clarity.
Tasting note:
The wine shows a deep, opaque purple-black colour, with an intense nose of blackberry, cassis and dark plum, layered with violet, rock rose and subtle spice. On the palate it is full-bodied and structured, with firm, finely grained tannins and vibrant acidity providing tension and longevity. Flavours of dark berry fruit, black cherry and cocoa are supported by a pronounced schist-driven mineral backbone, adding depth and focus. The finish is long, powerful and persistent, with lingering floral notes, dark fruit and spice.
A commanding and age-worthy Vintage Port, combining intensity, structure and precision, built for long-term cellaring while already showing impressive definition and balance.
Please note wines will arrive in the UK from Portugal in September
