Smith Woodhouse is known for producing finely structured Vintage Ports that combine purity of fruit with elegance and balance. This vintage is sourced from their own Quinta da Madelena vineyard. It is a very small bottling from their best vineyard and reflects the house style of precision, freshness and understated power, with excellent ageing potential.
This is a wine that immediately draws you in! Bright, expressive aromas of blackberry, red cherry and plum are lifted by floral and herbal notes and a subtle hint of spice. The palate is silky smooth fresh and focused, showing pure fruit laced with kirsch and liquorice. Elegant and balanced but showing complexity from the sizeable component of old vines in the field blend.
Wines will land in the UK from Portugal in September.
