The Liberator collection of wines is the visionary creation of Richard Kelley—AKA Rick—a Master of Wine and respected authority on South African vintages. With over thirty years of industry experience, he has built a network of friends across South Africa's vibrant winemaking community. Whenever he visits the Cape, he makes it a point to reconnect with these friends and explore their cellars, uncovering exceptional wines that don't quite fit the mainstream winery portfolios, are considered too experimental, or are destined to be merged into blends. Episode 43 – "Companion Plants of the Sandveld" marks the release of the first single-varietal Sauvignon "Episode." Crafted from only three 300-litre barrels, this wine comes from a vineyard located alongside native buchu—a medicinal plant celebrated for its distinctive menthol aromas.
