Baron de Sigognac is one of the oldest Armagnac firms, which is still family run, Based at Chateau Bordeneuve, in the top cru of Bas, the firm uses both the Ugni Blanc and Baco grape varieties in the production of their armagnacs
Their 1980 armagnac has been aged for over 40 years in oak barrels, and has a deep amber colour. The nose is complex, with notes of dried fruit, chocolate, and leather. The palate is full-bodied and smooth, with hints of vanilla, spice, and tobacco. The finish is long and lingering.
