The driest of the classic Madeira styles, Sercial is all about precision, freshness and edge. Aged for around ten years in seasoned oak through the traditional canteiro system, it develops subtle oxidative complexity while staying taut and vibrant. This is a leaner, more angular expression of Madeira—less about richness, more about lift, structure and appetite-whetting character.
Fresh and lifted on the nose, with notes of citrus peel, green apple and toasted almonds, alongside a faint saline hint. The palate is crisp and dry, showing flavours of lemon zest, nuts and a touch of spice, all driven by a bright, zippy acidity. The finish is long, clean and mouthwatering, with a lingering savoury, almost briny edge.
