Domaine Evremond's classic Cuvee (Edition 1) is a fabulous (and much anticipated) new addition to England's sparkling wine scene and represents one of the first major investments by a Champagne house in English vineyards.

Located close to the village of Chilham, the vineyards boast the perfect combination of deep, free draining chalk soils, south facing slopes and an ideal altitude of 50 to 90m above sea level that make it ideal for producing world-class sparkling wines.

In 2015, founders Pierre Emmanuel Taittinger and Patrick McGrath MW discovered the ideal location for their venture, and thus began the journey to create a high-quality English sparkling wine. Crafting the wine with a blend of 55% Pinot Noir, 35% Chardonnay, and 10% Pinot Meunier, it is then fermented and matured in stainless steel vats and undergoes malolactic fermentation before being aged for three years on the lees.

The wine has a lively, fine mousse that gives it a creamy, smooth feel on the palate. In the glass, you'll notice fresh citrus aromas—imagine a mix of lemon zest and green apple—blended with hints of pear and light floral touches, reflecting the influence of both Chardonnay and Meunier. On the palate, it’s vibrant and well-balanced, with crisp acidity that keeps the fruit flavours bright. Underneath, subtle notes of toast or brioche from extended lees contact add depth and a gentle creaminess. The finish is long, refreshing, and marked by a balanced minerality that speaks to the chalky vineyards.
