2022 Escarpment 'Kiwa' Pinot Noir

Kiwa is one of Escarpment’s distinctive single-vineyard Pinot Noirs, from a site in Martinborough’s Te Muna Road area. The cooler, stony soils and long growing season give the wine plenty of freshness, while the low yields and careful winemaking bring real depth and concentration. It’s a classic example of what Martinborough Pinot Noir can do – fragrant, precise and structured, with plenty of character from the vineyard.

Lifted and elegant, with red cherry, strawberry, floral notes and savoury herbs. There is a lovely silky quality to the wine, with fine tannins and a long, fresh finish. The 2022 Kiwa scored 94 points from James Suckling.
