Hatozaki Triple Cask Whisky is a premium Japanese blended malt crafted by the Kaikyō Distillery under the guidance of Master Blender Kimio Yonezawa. This expression undergoes a three-stage maturation, starting life in ex-bourbon and ex-sherry casks before being finished for several months in rare umeshu (Japanese plum liqueur) casks, a finishing technique unusual in whisky production. The result is a beautifully balanced whisky with a fragrant nose of oak spice, black tea and citrus, a palate of delicate oak, dried fruit and subtle plum sweetness, and a long, rounded finish — showcasing both traditional Japanese craftsmanship and innovative flavour layering.
