The base alcohol used in Romano Levi Grappa Moscato comes from distilled grape pomace of Moscato grapes, the aromatic variety widely grown in Piedmont. Produced by the historic Levi Serafino Distillery, the spirit is made by distilling the skins, seeds and pulp left over after pressing Moscato grapes for wine, following the traditional Italian method used for grappa.
Using Moscato pomace gives the grappa a fragrant and expressive character. Expect delicate floral aromas, notes of fresh grape, citrus and hints of honey, with a soft, gently warming finish. Like many spirits associated with Romano Levi, it reflects the distillery’s focus on small-scale production and the expressive character of local Piedmontese grapes
