Although Taylor’s is renowned for its legendary Vintage Ports, it is also regarded as one of the finest producers of 10 Year Old Tawny Port. It is the best-selling 10 Year Old Tawny Port in the UK.
This style is matured entirely in seasoned oak casks, each holding roughly 630 litres. Over the course of many years, the wine gradually acquires its distinctive amber-tawny hue and develops the complex, mellow aromas and the smooth, opulent palate that define a true Tawny Port.
Taylor’s 10 Year Old Tawny is crafted from the house’s extensive reserves of cask-aged Ports, slowly matured in the cool, serene cellars—known as the lodges—in Oporto on Portugal’s Atlantic coast.
A benchmark of the aged tawny category, Taylor’s 10 Year Old Tawny is refined and harmonious, marrying subtle wood notes with rich, mature fruit. It is bottled ready to enjoy immediately.
Deep brick-red colour with an amber edge. The nose is rich and refined, offering ripe berry fruit intertwined with a gentle nuttiness and soft, mellow hints of chocolate, butterscotch, and fine oak. The palate is smooth and silky, filled with flavours of ripe figs and jammy fruit that linger on the long, satisfying finish.
