When the weather warms up, red wine doesn't have to take a back seat. Join Nick Fisher, better known as Burgundy Nick, for an evening exploring a fascinating selection of lighter-bodied reds from some of the world's most exciting wine regions.
You'll be welcomed with an aperitif on arrival before enjoying a guided tasting flight of seven wines. Pinot Noir will naturally feature, with examples from Burgundy the New World, but the evening goes well beyond the obvious. We'll discover the fragrant Pelaverga from Verduno in Piedmont, a deliciously dry Lambrusco (trust us!) Argentina's increasingly sought-after Criolla Chico from Durrigutti, a benchmark South African Cinsault, and perhaps even a beautifully perfumed Grenache Noir.
These are wines that prove red wine can be fresh, vibrant and refreshing without sacrificing character or complexity. Expect bright fruit, lively acidity, subtle spice and silky tannins – bottles that are every bit as enjoyable lightly chilled as they are at cellar temperature.
As always, Nick will bring his wealth of knowledge, enthusiasm and relaxed presenting style, making this an evening that's equally enjoyable whether you're discovering these wines for the first time or looking to delve a little deeper.
