Bordeaux Masterclass with Chateau Tournefeuille

Bordeaux Masterclass with Chateau Tournefeuille

Masterclass on Bordeaux Blending with Emeric Petit

Wednesday 11th October from 7pm

We have been wanting to do this tasting for ages! It has taken a few months to organise but we are delighted to be joined by Emeric Petit from Vignoble Tournefeuille. This will be a tasting with a difference, not only will we have the excellent Emeric giving a masterclass on the superb wines from his estates in Lalande de Pomerol and we will also taste some of the individual components of the 2022 vintage that are still in cask over in France. As one of the unique aspects of Bordeaux winemaking is the art of blending, Emeric will show us how he uses wines from different grape varieties, vineyard plots and even the age of the barrel and how they are carefully and expertly tasted and blended to create the final wine

We will be have the rare opportunity to taste these component cask wines (these might change when Emeric sorts the samples for us just before the event).

  1. Merlot three year wood
  2. Cabernet Franc three year wood
  3. Cabernet Franc new wood on clay soils
  4. Cabernet Franc new wood on gravels
  5. Merlot New wood on clay soils
  6. Merlot Amphora on gravels
Once we have finished the blending we will move onto looking at Chateau Tournefeuille's finished wines. Chateau Tournefeuille is a special vineyard, perched up near the church of Pomerol looking down onto the vineyards of Château La Fleur-Pétrus, a small beck demarking the areas between Lalande de Pomerol and Pomerol. We will taste the three wines from Chateau Tournefeille.

The evening will kick off with a glass of Château Laurès Blanc Entre Deux Mers 2021 - Sauvignon Blanc, Sémillon and Muscadelle. These fresh whites are still unfashionable and they deserve more attention.

Lastly we will serve a delicious regional cheese and charcuterie board and serve that with an older vintage Bordeaux.

Tickets price £49.95 per person
