Massaya Wines of Lebanon Winemaker Masterclass Wednesday 12th October 7pm - 9pm
We jumped at the opportunity to host a winemakers’ masterclass with Sami Ghosn from Massaya Wines who is a compelling and entertaining speaker. We really love their unique winemaking style and the very special hints of local terroir present in their wines. Amongst other things we can’t wait to hear about the challenges they faced when returning to their farmhouse and vineyards after the civil war and their approach to winemaking to create wines that are distinctively Lebanese and honour their ancient tradition of wine making yet also take inspiration from their French partners.
Massaya is a family business born from the ruins of civil war and run by brothers Sami and Ramzi Ghosn in partnership with Frédéric and Daniel Brunier from Domaine du Vieux Télégraphe. It is now one of the most respected winemakers in Lebanon. The family farmhouse and vineyards were originally in the Beqaa Valley and have now expanded onto and around the foot hills of Mount Lebanon.
Along with an aperitif, a flight of six wines and a digestif we will serve a Middle Eastern inspired mezze board.
