Tasting Flight - Wines of Jura

WINES OF JURA TASTING FLIGHT

This is a new style of wine tasting that is untutored and informal allowing you to taste at your leisure. You will get a reception drink on arrival followed by a flight of 5 Juran wines from Chateau Bethanie accompanied by a sharing board of distinctive regional charcuterie and cheese. Full tasting notes on your table will give you background information and space to note any of your own observations. We will be milling around pouring wines and are on hand to chat or answer any questions.

Sandwiched between Burgundy and Switzerland the wine growing region of Jura is one of the most picturesque – sparkling lakes and pretty medieval villages are set amongst vineyard clad hills that rise up to the Jura mountains. Chateau Bethanie is a cooperative at the heart of the Jura at Arbois one of the oldest AOC in France. In addition to growing classic varietals such as Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, Poulsard and Trousseau are also grown as well as Savagnin for the regions speciality 'yellow wine'.

We love their wines which are a true expression of the terroir and your flight will include a sparkling Cremant, classic whites, interesting reds and the regional speciality Vin Jaune. Displaying both powerful and subtle flavours they are great with food particularly local charcuterie and cheese.

Cost is £30 per person which includes a flight of 6 Juran wines, charcuterie and cheese and tasting notes.
