We are pleased to announce our next wine flight evening will feature the fine rose wines of the iconic Chateau D'Esclans, whose flagship wine Whispering Angel has become the benchmark for Cote de Provence rose wines. We will also taste the Chateau's more serious fine wines in the form of Rock Angel, Chateau D'Esclans, Les Clans and the world class rose Garrus.

Chateau D'Esclans is widely recoginsed as home to some of the most highly prized rose wines. Situated in the heart of Provence overlooking the Esclan Valley with the meditteranean coast a faint glimmer in the distance, it was acquired in 2006 by Sacha Lichine whose vision was to create some of greatest rose wines in the world! Grenache is the primary grape grown along withh Vermentino, Cinsault, Mouvedre, Merlot, Syrah and Tibouren. The Chateau is known for its old Grenache vines which offer grapes of greater concentration of flavour. Some of the vines at the highest elevations are over 100 years old.

This new style of wine tasting is untutored and informal allowing you to taste at your leisure. You will receive a glass of Whispering Angel as your aperitif followed by a flight of 4 of D'Esclans top rose wines accompanied by a sharing board of Scottish smoked salmon three ways. Why smoked salmon? We think its a match made in heaven as the acidity and full flavour in these fine rose wines compliment the saltiness and oiliness of the fish.

Full tasting notes on your table will give you background information and space to note any of your own observations. We will be milling around pouring wines and are on hand to chat or answer any questions

Cost is £35 per person
