Classic and composed, the 2016 Ovello Riserva feels more open and finely detailed than the 2017. Aromas of red cherry, wild strawberry and dried rose come through clearly, with layers of tea leaf, anise and a cool, mineral note.
On the palate it’s structured but beautifully balanced. Fine, chalky tannins carry flavours of bright red fruit, citrus peel and gentle spice, while fresh acidity keeps everything precise and lifted. There’s a sense of clarity here—nothing forced, everything in place.
The finish is long, savoury and quietly persistent, with lingering notes of herbs, cherry and stone. Already compelling with air, but built to evolve gracefully for many years.
