Located in the South West of France, Cahors stands as the historic birthplace of Malbec. In its French rendition, Malbec exhibits a more savoury, dark-skinned and contemplative character compared to its Argentine counterpart. Perfected over centuries, the 'Grand Vin' of Clos la Coutale, known as Grand Coutale, represents a blend of Malbec, Merlot and Tannat, boasting an average yield of only 25 hectoliters. This exceptional blend undergoes a meticulous maturation process in new oak barrels for two years, with regular stirring to craft supple and silky tannins.

The result is an intense, inky wine dominated by black fruit flavours, presenting a full-bodied profile that merits decanting.
