The 2015 Niepoort Vintage Port blends 40% grapes from the Pisca vineyard with 60% from ancient vines in Vale de Mendiz, Cima Corgo, aged between 80 and 100 years. With a residual sugar of 101 g/litre, this vintage benefits from an exceptional growing season featuring a cold, dry winter followed by a warm, sunny spring and summer, interrupted by cooling August temperatures. The harvest, starting August 28th, was favorably influenced by mid-September rainfall, aiding optimal grape ripening. This wine is notable for its fine, intense tannins, balanced structure, concentrated purity, and elegant fruit expression.
