Reyneke Winemaker Masterclass with Johan Reyneke

Reyneke Estate is one of South Africa's very few certified Biodynamic wine farms. In fact Johan has has become somewhat of an authority on the subject. Herbicide, pesticide and fungicide free, coupled with no artificial additives in the cellar has meant that his non-intervention approach has created wines which are true to their origin and character and maintain a beautiful clean freshness and purity of flavours at all levels.

Johan’s company ethos is to strive for quality with integrity and this certainly  shows itself not only in his dedication to organic and biodynamic viticulture and vinification methods but also a belief in treating his employees with  fairness - his company now funds housing, education, and other poverty eradication measures through the sale of his “Cornerstone” wines.

Reyneke was the first organic winery in South Africa to receive a 5 star company Platter’s Wine Guide and Johan was Winemaker of the Year in Tim Atkins' 2020 South Africa report.
